Supporting Indigenous Communities.
Supporting the Growth of Indigenous Entrepreneurship and Employability. A&P Australia is committed to supporting the growth of indigenous entrepreneurship and employability across the Australian defence sector.
A&P Australia recruited Dimeo Indigenous Pty Ltd to supply all cleaning services at its Garden Island facility, as well as onboard HMAS Choules throughout the vessel’s Refit Period 21.
Dimeo Indigenous is a Supply Nation certified Indigenous owned and controlled joint venture between Craig Dukes and Dimeo Cleaning Services. The company was formed as part of a natural extension of Dimeo Cleaning Service’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments, to provide benefits to Indigenous communities.
Scott Willey, Managing Director of A&P Australia, said: “We are delighted by the quality of work that continues to be delivered by the Dimeo team.
“Our recent programmes have resulted in record numbers of tradesmen who have been engaged on the site, and the Dimeo team has ensured that the vessel, our facilities and multiple trade ways have been meticulously maintained, ensuring the project team could complete the thousands of work packages on time, minimising the downtime of the vessel.
“We are proud of our partnership with Dimeo and look forward to working with them in the months ahead.”
Michael O’Donoghue, Dimeo Indigenous Operations Manager, said: “Dimeo Indigenous has engineered its services to deliver cleaning around the complex environment at Garden Island with particular attention to the health and safety of both its staff and those it is servicing.
“It has been great working in collaboration with A&P, a client which delivers rapid, military style, clear communication across its workplace. We look forward to continuing to grow our partnership with A&P Australia and seeing HMAS Choules deployed back into operation.”
