Engineering Management
A&P Australia offer unique end-to-end engineering management solutions from need or inception through design, implementation, and validation phases.
Through our experience on large scale Naval Capability Assurance Programs A&P are uniquely positioned to integrate with our clients and provide solution-orientated outcomes at all stages to progress complex projects, programs and tasks to their desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.
Focussing on the maritime industry our services are tailorable to both defence and commercial marine for in-service configuration changes, alterations, conversions, mobilisation and demobilisations, or in support of new build programs.
Good engineering management requires awareness of all technical, environmental and external factors, including design intent and operational context, but equally schedule and budget constraints, to ensure effective, on time delivery of capability that is viable and fit for purpose.
Design Services
Our wide-ranging design services are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and cover all aspects and disciplines of marine engineering and design. Our team of qualified and chartered engineers’ naval architects and technicians provide end to end design management, execution, validation, tests and trials, or can offer specific services for:
- Engineering investigations, feasibility studies and technical investigations.
- Concept, preliminary and detailed design.
- Margin and transversals management.
- Material and equipment selection and procurement planning.
- Safety case and environmental impact assessments.
- Installation packages, work instructions, drawings and equipment list preparation.
- Life cycle costing, reliability and supportability analysis.
- ILS and through life support artefacts.
- Validation, Verification, Test & Trials services.
As individual services or as complete design packages all follow a risk-based systems engineering process to ensure fit for purpose products that meet customer and operational requirements.
Core disciplines include:
- Naval Architecture
- Marine Engineering
- Mechanical & Structural Engineering
- Marine Electrical, Controls and Automation (including HV generation, distribution and propulsion).
- Military communications, weapons, sensing and specialist systems.
ILS and Configuration Management
Configuration Management and ILS is crucial to maintaining accurate product baselines and ensure that the right information, equipment, parts and resources are available for end users and maintainers to effectively operate and support complex marine assets in all environments and threats.
A&P have over 12-years of experience updating ILS and maintaining the configuration baseline for HMAS Choules.
Our experience covers multiple systems and tools, and is based on our deep understanding of operating, maintaining and sustaining marine vessels, platforms and warships.
Working to defence requirements and tailoring solutions for specific client operating context, A&P provides Configuration Management and ILS services for operational assets and new-builds which include:
