RFA Cardigan Bay ACP Completed In ASRY.
A project team from A&P Defence has been working in Bahrain, to complete RFA Cardigan Bay’s Annual Certification Period at ASRY Shipyard.
The planned programme of works included the full annual recertification package which was completed with class authority in just three days.
Lifeboat maintenance, steel work, pipework, crane, life and ramp maintenance as well as a propulsion converter survey.
A&P co-ordinated the 25 UK and Overseas Contractors who travelled to Bahrain for the project.
Matt Weetch, Director of Defence, said: “A&P Defence provides around the globe maintenance and support to the RN and RFA fleet – underpinning vessel availability whilst in operational theatres.
“Our ability to deliver complex global maintenance to the flotilla is due the strength of our relationships with our international strategic partners.
“I would like to congratulate the A&P Defence project team and our counterparts at ASRY who completed this scope of works ahead of schedule. We wish the captain and crew of RFA Cardigan Bay well as they continue their deployment.”
