A&P Defence supports HMS Scott docking In Gibraltar.
A team from A&P Defence is currently at Gibdock shipyard, Gibraltar project managing essential maintenance on HMS Scott as part of the vessel’s Fleet Time Support Period (FTSP).
The vessel’s programme of works includes crane overhauls, generator maintenance, cathodic protection re-cabling, engineering system firmware upgrades and engine room painting.
HMS Scott had recently completed her life extension and docking period at A&P Falmouth, undergoing major works including blasting and painting of ballast tanks, overhaul of salt water pumps, HVAC health check and main engine maintenance. The team also carried out a large external paint package including underwater areas, as well as the clean and survey of steering gear.
Commander Tom Harrison, HMS Scott Commanding Officer, said: “We’ve achieved a huge amount during this life extension docking period. The team have worked diligently alongside their A&P counterparts and the ship is now in an excellent condition to deploy for another record breaking period of military data collection.”
